Today, Rocket Languages is one of the world’s leaders in downloadable language learning products. Seeing that the entire program is downloadable was the biggest reasons I chose to try Rocket Language Spanish. The program makes it convenient to learn Spanish sitting at your computer or anywhere else via mp3's.

What Will You Find In The Rocket Language Spanish Course?

  • You will get an ebook in written and audio formats which provides a  comprehensive beginners introduction to Spanish. You will learn grammatical structure, how to pronounce the alphabet, numbers and some very practical information as to how to ask the time of day and what responses you might get to common questions just to name a few.
  • You will also get over 12 hours of interactive mp3 audio conversations. These conversations allow you to practice Spanish words.  You will be asked to repeat the words and then asked to reply as if you were being spoken to.  All of this is broken down for you and very easy to follow.
  • Hours of cultural lessons and understanding how Spanish is spoken.  You will be provided with vocabulary and review lessons at the end of each lesson to gain a deeper understanding.
  • You will get learning software. This software allows you to learn new vocabulary words and verbs by reading and listening. It even allows you to add your own words and pictures so it makes learning more personalized.
  • Quizzes. You will get quizzed on your knowledge so that you are able to track your progress.         

What I Like About Rocket Language Spanish - so far...

Compared to other programs I have tried I really enjoy how comprehensive the course is.  It is not the most sophisticated program based on it's packaging, but what it lacks in beauty it makes up with content.

This program gives you a nice primer so that you get a grasp on how the language is laid out.  It also provides many tips about what is important to know and what isn't when actually speaking in the real world.  I love the fact that you will be provided with variations on typical responses you might here from Spanish speaking people.

So far, what I love the most about Rocket Language Spanish is how down right practical the information is.  You will learn how to actually speak to someone and reply in Spanish in a short amount of time.  If you plan to travel somewhere soon or need basic Spanish for a job...this is key!

There are many popular Spanish learning programs that are on the market that will teach you how to speak Spanish in the shortest amount of time.  These programs can shave months off your learning curve.  They will not, however, have you speaking fluently overnight. But, you will learn more easily than some of the traditional classroom methods that some of you may be use to.


Learning spanish by yourself can be difficult so here are some things you should ask yourself when choosing the right online spanish course.

  1. Does the course contain audio that will help you understand spanish conversations and pronunciation of spanish words?
  2. Is the program iPod or MP3 compatible so that you can listen when ever and where ever you would like?
  3. Does the program teach you about spanish culture and background so that you will feel comfortable traveling to a spanish speaking country?
  4. Is there a method to easily learn spanish vocabulary words and retain them?
  5. Does the program quiz you on your progress so that you know where your weaknesses are?
  6. Does the course help you with understanding native spanish speaking people?
  7. Does the course teach you practical language skills so that you can become part of a spanish speaking community?
  
The online spanish method that I chose for myself came from the folks at rocket languages. In my opinion this program offered all of the above and more. It didn't cost an arm and leg like some other popular spanish programs and best of all you can download it immediately....no waiting for the package to arrive in the mail. Of course if you are looking for a course on CD's they do offer this option, but personally with the MP3 option you can load the audios directly to your ipod and listen in the car or while cooking or doing household chores. This makes the process so much easier.
