Hola! My name is Claire and I created this site based on my personal need to learn Spanish for an upcoming trip to Latin America. I've been to Mexico several times in the past and the last time I went I found myself in many situations where no one spoke English. I felt frustrated that I could not communicate with people. Why Rocket Spanish - My Personal Choice
Personally, I have tried a few other popular language learning programs such as Rosetta Stone and Fluenz. These are programs that claim to teach Spanish in a proprietary way that will make the experience fun and easy. Rocket Spanish also uses an easy method to learn Spanish, but it is different than the other programs in many ways. I will touch upon a few here.
First, it is not a total immersion program like Rosetta Stone. The focus is on teaching you how to speak Spanish with other Spanish speakers. You will learn proper pronunciation along with the English translation. The other two programs in contrast teach Spanish in a slightly formal manner.
Secondly, Rocket Spanish is not completely software based. The content is varied including, software, pdf's and audio files. In that way, Rocket Spanish appeals to a wide variety of learners because you can learn in so many ways.
Finally, you can learn Rocket Spanish at your own pace and pick up and start anywhere in the material. The other programs on the other hand have a natural progression in the material. Meaning you start at the basic and progress to more advanced Spanish.
My Opinion:
If you want to know how to communicate quickly in Spanish and do not need to know EVERYTHING immediately than Rocket Spanish is a great fit. You will not get caught up in the minutia of learning every aspect of the language - merely just what you need to know to get by in a conversation with a native speaker. In Rocket Spanish will teach you practical phrases right away. The course shows you what you need to understand and how you should respond to the most common situations that arise in day to day life. It cuts to the chase and gets you into the heart of what's important if you are traveling or are using it in a business situation.
The lessons will be 30-45 minutes with additional tools (i.e., software and written material) that will help you become conversant quickly. How quickly, you might ask? Well, the website claims you can learn to be conversant in 3 months. But this will entirely depend on you and the effort you put into the program. You will need to devote time to practicing the language and learning it every day.

MegaAudio is an interactive software game that comes with Rocket Spanish premium course. The game is fun and will have you understanding spoken Spanish a lot easier.
The game includes 20 topics covering approximately 1000 words. Each screen shows six images accompanied with a description in English. After you hit "start" you will need to match the spoken Spanish with the correct English word and picture. You will in turn get 6 points for every correct answer and lose one for incorrect answers.There is a repeat audio button if you need.

MegaVocab is similar to Mega Audio, but it helps you improve your Spanish vocabulary. You will get to see pictures with the English word underneath. You then have to choose the correct word in Spanish to receive points. This memorization game helps you learn common everyday words a lot quicker than you otherwise would.
The game itself consists of 23 topics with 25 questions. The nice feature of this game is that it allows you to add your own questions and images. Because of this feature it can be used well beyond its initial 575 questions and still be of use once you have outgrown the course!
